In little more than 10 years, housing associations have helped transofrm social properties into more desirable places to live.  In the process, Calico has become one of the best places to work in the country.  The Sunday Times Best Companies Survey rated us as a First Class Organisation and we aim to build on this by becoming an Employer of Choice. This achievement saw Calico rub shoulders with the likes of Microsoft and Kelloggs and is in no small part down to our commitment to training.  We take the training and development of our staff seriously and have been awarded Investors in People status.

This is a nationally recognised standard that helps organisations to improve performance through the effective management and development of its people.  We have also been judged as the best Not For Profit Company in the North West Business Excellence Awards in 2007.

In recognition of our successful training and development achievements, Calico was the winner of the Training & Development category at the 2009 Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards.  

Our People Strategy sets out how people should behave, be deployed, managed and developed in order to support the achievement of Calico’s overall corporate vision, values and strategic aims. It provides the framework for decision making for all our people issues.
