Apprenticeship opportunities

Calico Housing works with Burnley College and Accrington & Rossendale College and provides modern apprenticeship programmes to support young people to work towards nationally recognised qualifications.

What is available?

Our modern apprentices are aged between 16-25 years of age and we offer opportunities in:  plumbing; electrical; joinery; plastering; painting and decorating, housing and business administration.

The apprenticeships range from 2-4 years, dependent on the apprenticeship.  Annual pay increases are given as the apprentice progresses and develops through their course.  Apprentices are also eligible to access the wide range of benefits available to Calico employees (see Benefits of working for Calico).

Why undertake an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship with Calico provides a supported self-learning programme coupled with hands-on experience in order to gain a nationally recognised qualification and all whilst in receipt of a monthly salary!

In addition to your qualification, you are also eligible to attend other training and development opportunities within Calico.

Each apprentice is allocated a learning mentor and manager and the HR Officer responsible for Calico’s Apprenticeship Programme will monitor the progress of each scheme in order for the apprentice to gain maximum support and experience.

Each apprentice will receive a starter pack of tools and corporate uniform including boots on commencement.

How can I apply?

All our apprentice vacancies are advertised on our website, at Burnley and Accrington & Rossendale College, Connexions and Job Centre Plus.

Please note we are not able to offer the full range of apprenticeships each year, as we have to align our opportunities with business requirements.
